The played in low lighting for a second free show downstairs at the Waterway. Patrons not only enjoyed their rock, but conversations about orgainic farming. their were panties thrown at the band. im not sure exactly who threw them, but i think it was the roudy girls from jersey. glorious filaments on the myspace

You can catch Kris playing with a variety of local artists in town. This night it was with Jeff Stabley on Keys and Sean Beck on turntables for a superb set of sets. Quite some grooves.

The Glorious Filaments lit up the downstairs at the waterway to a warm, and pleasing crowd this holiday weekend. Friends from old were at the show hangin out and rockin to the eclectic mix of covers and origional tunes from this fresh and obviously well rehearsed four piece.

waiting on a train put on the highest energy most intimate set ever at the First Capital Dispensing Co and shook the floor with the hootin hollerin and dancing. fun times. fun sets. the fans would not let them stop playing. (and bought all their cd's too)

The Quigleys threw and outstanding party on their property celebrating mars' close proximity, good music, and fellowship. Carl Weathers and crew took the venture to the county with no traffic lights. To no surprise rain commenced shortly after we arrived and did not stop until after the sunrise.

mikey convinced swilly, kris, beth, rob and i to head south to his former hometown of chapel hill to see his friends, the scaries, last shows: one at 6pm and one at 9pm. there were some other killer bands there too which have pics also. ali with an i, extreme badasses and awk (andrew wk cover band) we had an f'n blast. then we drove home thru the snow ridden unplowed highways for many, many more hours then any of us wished...but i think it was worth it. check out the pics... hope to add descriptions soon. pic your favorites if you wish...

Canadian apcalyptic instrumentalists graced south central pa with their presence in a strange venue in the bottom floor of the whitaker center in harrisburg. members of various constellation bands (godspeed) and also members of broken social scene. a small spot made for an intimate perforamce that ended with the amazing encore of the landlord is dead. which included guitars being played with teeth and lots of reversing loops.

so i show up for the openers a little bit late but i didn't quite make it in time due to them selling out the lounge. i had heard through the grape vine that they were gonna move the show upstairs. a swell idea since frog holler draws such a crowd. so once frog holler was done they let us in. that rocked. the moon was full. the music loud and the audiance lively.

WOAT took bluegrass to the new Smalls club in york and rocked it up a bit with an electric set at the end. Ponie show and Horsecop took the stage as well. Fun night and then the LCB showed up. Every one around me was wearing badges. I only had the camera out for part of the acoustic set though

Caught some great bands playing in the hot hot heat of austin, tx. Unfortunately a bird hit the plane before i boarded and it was three hours late so i missed modest mouse. sniffles. it rocked regaurdless though.

The Boys hopped on the stage with their instruments and got all miked up by veteran sound guy Gene for a killer high energy couple sets at this great little pub nestled across the railroad tracks from the mighty Susquehanna. They sound was great, food was tasty, and the beers scrumptious.

Such an intimate venue for some really mellow and passionate music. They set up in the backroom with Ben Brittan first followed by Ponieheart and Peter and the Wolf as a three piece. Quite splendid.

Built to Spill was sposed to go on tour right after they released their sweet new album but apparantly doug marsh had some health problems and the tour got postponed till this september date. I got my hands on neighbor alicia's tix since she couldn't make it out to pittsburgh for the show and took andrew with. this venue is rockin and i look forward to seein more great shows there. spectacular performance.

Frank Black - Chameleon Club - August 14th 2006

Frank Black came to the Chameleon Club solo. It was splendid. He played a superb mix of pixies tunes and solo tunes. It was the first time i've been to the chameleon club when they had seats. He left the stage for several minutes at the end of the set before his wife ran out and got him for the encore. He ended the night with a moving solo rendition of "where is my mind."
